1. Paraprofessional: The Hempfield Area School District has a vacancy for a Permanent, full-time Paraprofessional at Harrold Middle School in the Learning Support Classroom for the 2022-23 School Year. 

 

2. Anticipated Paraprofessional: The Hempfield Area School District anticipates a vacancy for a Permanent, full-time Paraprofessional at a location to be determined for the 2022-23 School Year. 

 

The Paraprofessional position includes, but is not necessarily limited to, assisting teachers in the education and training of special education students. The paraprofessional’s role is to increase the potential effectiveness of the professional and increase the quality of instruction by freeing the teacher from the non-instructional activities of the classroom. Anticipated Building Aide: The Hempfield Area School District anticipates a vacancy for a Permanent, Part-time Building Aide at location to be determined. The hours are: Monday through Friday 11 am - 1:30 pm and every 3 weeks 8:30 am - 1:30 pm (rotation schedule with the other aides). Building aide duties shall be confined to non-instructional activities of the elementary program. These duties shall include, but are not necessarily limited to, monitoring hallways, classrooms and lunchrooms when deemed necessary. The district is now accepting applications for summer laborer positions

 

Applicants must be a graduate of Hempfield Area School District and must be attending a college/university or technical school in the fall. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. 

The following must be completed prior to beginning employment:

  • All clearances (PA Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprints)
  • Act 126
  • Nepotism Form
  • Physical form and TB test
  • And all other employment forms needed by the district

 

Applications are available in the Human Resources Office or online at hasdpa.net. Please turn in completed applications to the Human Resources Office as soon as possible.

Guest teachers are individuals in the community who do not have a teacher certification, but possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher. The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) will grant an emergency permit (Type 06 permit) allowing individuals to become a day-to-day substitute teacher once the individual completes a district training program, provides required employment documentation (physical, TB test, transcripts and clearances, and other forms), and the PDE application through TIMS. The Type 06 permit allows a guest teacher to substitute in any subject area. The Type 06 Emergency Permit is valid for one year (August 1st-July 31st) and must be renewed on an annual basis.

Spanish Teacher: The Hempfield Area School District has a vacancy for a second semester day to day substitute Spanish teacher available immediately through June 3, 2022. Requirements: Valid PA Spanish certificate. Applicants must be willing to teach courses and programs in the Spanish classroom including: communication, culture, and local, national and global usage. Applicants should possess strong classroom management skills, passion for the Spanish language and culture, be energetic and engaging to inspire the students.
