Assistant High School Principal

Supervisor of Special Education

Supervisor of Special Education: The Hempfield Area School District has a vacancy for a 12-month Supervisor of Special Education available January 2022. Requirements: Valid PA certification of Supervisor of Special Education and Principal K-12, preferred. This position supports the special education staff in carrying out the District’s special education plan. The Supervisor of Special Education provides education leadership and direction to ensure the educational programs meet the needs of students and are in accordance with state and federal laws. The Supervisor of Special Education provides hands-on assistance and technical expertise to staff and administration. ​2nd Semester (LTS) Spanish Teacher

Spanish Teacher:  The Hempfield Area School District has a vacancy for a second semester Spanish teacher available January 18, 2022 through June 3, 2022. Requirements: Valid PA Spanish certificate.  Applicants must be willing to teach courses and programs in the Spanish classroom including: communication, culture, and local, national and global usage. Applicants should possess strong classroom management skills, passion for the Spanish language and culture, be energetic and engaging to inspire the students. 

2nd Semester (LTS) Family and Consumer Science 

Family and Consumer Science Teacher: The Hempfield Area School District has a vacancy for a second semester Family and Consumer Science teacher available January 18, 2022 through June 3, 2022. Requirements: Valid PA Family and Consumer Science certificate. Applicants must be willing to teach courses and programs  related to family and consumer sciences, career, community and family connections, consumer and family resource management, parenting and child development, food, nutritional and wellness, family and interpersonal relationships. Applicants should possess strong classroom management skills, passion for teaching the related courses, and be energetic and engaging to inspire the students.

2nd Semester (LTS) Social Studies Teacher 

Social Studies Teacher: The Hempfield Area School District has a vacancy for a second semester Social Studies teacher available January 18, 2022 through June 3, 2022. Requirements:  Valid PA Social Studies certificate. Applicants must be willing to plan and administer the social studies instructional program and classroom operation in compliance with guidelines and regulations determined by the administration, Board of Directors, state and federal agencies. Applicants should possess strong classroom management skills, passion for teaching the related courses, and be energetic and engaging to inspire the students.

Building Aide

Building Aide: The Hempfield Area School District has a vacancy for a Permanent, Part-time Building Aide at West Hempfield Elementary School. The hours are: Monday through Friday 11 am - 1:30 pm and every 3 weeks 8:30 am - 1:30 pm  (rotation schedule with the other aides). Building aide duties shall be confined to non-instructional activities of the elementary program. These duties shall include, but are not necessarily limited to, monitoring hallways, classrooms and lunchrooms when deemed necessary. Anticipated Paraprofessional

Paraprofessional: The Hempfield Area School District anticipates a vacancy for a Permanent, full-time Paraprofessional at Maxwell Elementary School in the Learning Support Classroom. The Paraprofessional position includes, but is not necessarily limited to, assisting teachers in the education and training of special education students. The paraprofessional’s role is to increase the potential effectiveness of the professional and increase the quality of instruction by freeing the teacher from the non-instructional activities of the classroom.  She/he is not responsible for the design, direction or evaluation of the teaching-learning process. GUEST SUBSTITUTE TEACHER PROGRAM

Guest teachers are individuals in the community who do not have a teacher certification, but possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher. The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) will grant an emergency permit (Type 06 permit) allowing individuals to become a day-to-day substitute teacher once the individual completes a district training program, provides required employment documentation (physical, TB test, transcripts and clearances, and other forms), and the PDE application through TIMS. The Type 06 permit allows a guest teacher to substitute in any subject area. The Type 06 Emergency Permit is valid for one year (August 1st-July 31st) and must be renewed on an annual basis.
