#1 Anticipated Biology Teacher
Secondary Biology: The Hempfield Area School District is accepting applications for an anticipated permanent Biology teacher effective August 18 2025. Requirements: Valid PA Science (biology) certificate. Applicants must be willing to plan and administer science instruction to students, maintain classroom operations in compliance with guidelines and regulations determined by the administration, Board of Directors, state and federal agencies. Internal applicants should possess strong classroom management skills, passion for teaching the related courses, and be energetic and engaging to inspire the students. #2 Behavior Specialist/Special Education Teacher
The Hempfield Area School District is accepting applications for a Behavior Specialist/Special Education Teacher effective August 18 2025. Requirements: Valid PA K-12 Special Education Teacher Certification, Valid Pennsylvania Licensed Behavioral Specialist, Certification and/or License in Applied Behavior Analysis, preferred, Certification in Autism, preferred. The Behavioral Specialist duties include collaborating with regular and special education teachers, other school professionals and parents to assist them in developing, implementing and evaluating intervention programs for students who are exhibiting social behavior problems in the school setting. While the goal of the collaborative effort is to prevent or ameliorate student behavior problems which adversely affect achievement of valued outcomes, the focus of the Behavioral Specialist is on school professionals and parents to facilitate the development of skills and problem-solving techniques which can be generalized for use in future situations. This position may also be assigned a roster of special education students to teach. Duties while serving as a special education teacher include rendering diagnostic, prescriptive, and education services designed within an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to serve students having one or more disabilities; assist in writing the IEP for the identified students; provide appropriate modification to curriculum; and provide instructional support as outlined in the IEP.
