Standardized Testing Programs

In accordance with the school district’s “Guidelines for the Collection, Maintenance and Dissemination of Student Records,” it is our policy to announce the standardized testing program schedule and the education purpose for the administration of the tests:

To assess and measure academic performance for any student taking Algebra I, Literature and/or Biology

To assess achievement of student learning outcomes and to assist in strategic planning.

To provide benchmark assessments in math, reading, science, and English to estimate performance on the PSSA and Keystone exams.

To assess the effectiveness of the bullying prevention program

At times in order to assess an individual student's progress or to determine if there is a need for a special education evaluation, individual tests will be administered by either the guidance counselor, reading teacher and/or intervention coordinator.  These tests can include an individual achievement test, behavior or social rating scale, individual abilities test, reading or math diagnostic test, etc.   Parents will be notified.
