Chromebook Insurance

To comply with testing requirements set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy is being discontinued, and the BYOD wireless network will no longer be available in our schools.

Beginning this school year, all students in grades 3–12 will be issued district-managed Chromebooks for instructional use and standardized testing.

While optional, families are strongly encouraged to purchase device accident insurance, as they are responsible for any damage to district-issued instructional materials.

Chromebook Insurance Details

Students in grades 3–12 using a district-issued Chromebook are eligible to purchase an annual, non-refundable insurance policy:

  • $25 for a single student

  • $40 for two students in the same household

  • $60 for three or more students in the same household

This insurance covers accidental and non-negligent damage to the device. It does not cover damage determined to be intentional or due to negligence; families are financially responsible for such incidents.

Payment Instructions

Insurance can be paid at any time during the school year.

Families experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to contact their building principal for assistance.
