Tim Buzzard

Varsity Head Coach

In the fall of 2007, Tim Buzzard was hired as the Varsity Head Coach of Hempfield Area baseball; he previously spent two years as an assistant. During his first season as the Head Coach, Tim lead the Spartan baseball team to a section championship.

A 2000 graduate of Hempfield Area High School, Coach Buzzard holds the third best single-season record in strikeouts with 66 and is ranked 5th in combined season strikeouts with 115.  A 2005 graduate of University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Coach Buzzard served 4 years as a starting pitcher with 19 wins, 1 save, and 199 strikeouts.  He had 41 starts and 10 complete games and was ranked nationally in Division II in ERA and Strikeouts his senior season.  In addition to coaching at Hempfield Area, Coach Buzzard has also been the pitching coach for the West Hempfield Senior Legion Team where he help lead the team to the 2005 District 31 Championship.  Coach Buzzard has a degree in elementary education and is currently teaching 6th and 7th grades at West Hempfield Middle School.  Tim is single and resides in Hempfield Township.
