School Readiness

Dear Parents,

As your child’s first and most important teacher, you can encourage your child’s love of learning by participating in educational activities at home. Working together on the activities from this site will help your child build confidence, learn to reason, and develop skills necessary for a more successful year in kindergarten.

The following are a few suggestions to help make your time together bother enjoyable and rewarding.

·         Choose a time when you and your child can relax.

·         Provide a writing tool that your child can use comfortably.

·         Don’t attempt to do too many activities at one time. Your child’s attention span is
         short (approximately 6-10 minutes). Move on if your child loses interested or
         is frustrated.

·        PRAISE YOUR CHILD’S EFFORTS. This is the most important thing you can do.
