Typical Sound Development

Speech sounds are developmental in nature and are not considered disordered until a child reaches a certain age.  The following is an acquistion chart which illustrates sound mastery.

All  Hempfield students will be screened at the end of their first grade year.  If a child does not pass this screening, parents will be notified, and a plan will be developed.
